Starting new churches is critical to advancing the gospel. Continue reading if you are interested in starting, joining, or giving to a new church.

Multiplication is the story of God’s people. In the beginning, it was biological multiplication as he commanded his creation to go out and multiply (Genesis 1:22). The principle comes in clearer view as Abraham receives an invitation to a covenant of expansion (Genesis 12:1).

As the story of the children of God unfolds, one learns God welcomes those who are outside the covenant into fellowship with his people (Leviticus 19:22). In the New Testament, two critical passages speak to multiplication: Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 1:8. In the Acts of the Apostles, one readily sees the expansion of the church through the strategy of community building.

These often-small fellowships spread across the region became the expansionary points for the new church. Great catalysts following the Reformation were responsible for further expanding the church. These include Calvin, Wesley, the Moravians, and others. This work hasn’t stopped — because people still need to personally know Jesus in a language and culture, even sub-cultures, which best connects to them.

We are here to do our share to make this happen. We believe there are at least four options available to partner with us in advancing the multiplication of the gospel.

I am an ordained pastor wanting to plant a new church.

I have a group of people who need a pastor.

I am a layperson willing to move to help someone plant a new church.

I want to give finances, land, or other assets to help a new church get started.

If one of these calls your name, please click the button below to complete our Church Multiplcation Form. Someone will be in touch within 72 hours.

Thank you for your interest in church multiplication!

Organizations of all kinds need periodic renewal in order to be their best

- including churches.

Churches often face difficult seasons in their ministry. Some seasons invite the local congregation to reconsider practices in order to bring a new level of revitalization. Sometimes, they just need a little recalibration. For some congregations, time and loss of membership forces more difficult assessment and activity to become vital and relevant to the community.

The goal of the Renew program is to partner with local congregations to restore the missional fruitfulness and health of the Body. To get to this point, however, requires patience, commitment, and work. Please contact for more information.

It has been said that everything rises and falls on leadership. To help pastors maximize  their leadership, we are forming THRIVE communities.THRIVE creates a dynamic new space for senior pastors to dream big and lead courageously in building vibrant and growing ministries.

These innovative small groups meet regularly to do 3 basic things:

LEAD mission together.

What does this mean? All great movements have started in the hearts of called leaders. Abraham. Moses. Paul. Luther. Wesley. Hybels. THRIVE groups take the collective calling of the group and advance the Kingdom by taking back what Hell has stolen. The state ministry will then come alongside this calling and help resource it in whatever ways possible. Thus, the ministry of Texas will look very much like the heart of Texans.

LEARN together.

One of our cherished values is that we as servant leaders must be continual learners. Seminars and conferences are great. Additional formal schooling is wonderful. But contextualized peer learning has proven to be an effective model for producing results. The state ministry will come alongside the groups to strengthen its learning plan.

LOVE one another.

No one understands the journey of ministry like those deep in the trenches of ministry. Therefore, no one can encourage you like those sharing the foxhole with you. These groups provide needed encouragement and accountability as you lead. The end result is that your heart will be enlarged and strengthened for ministry.

THRIVE Group Structure:

  • 3-5 pastors per group, chosen by the group, or assigned if so desired.
  • Meet 4-5 times per year for a cluster meeting.
  • Study materials and conferences generously funded through the THRIVE budget.
  • Real-time learning occurs while you also imagine and execute mission together.
  • Financially FREE, just travel and meals (some scholarship may be available).
  • Starts as soon as your group gets formed and initiated.

The TEAM Texas Prayer Ministry are a group of intercessors who regularly approach the throne of grace on YOUR behalf. They pray in the power and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

If you want to join this group of intercessors, please contact the State Administrator ( who will put you in touch with the team leader.

God promises us in His Word that He hears every word that we pray to Him. Like a good parent, He is waiting ready, and willing to listen to our worries, concerns, and needs. Whether we are seeking forgiveness, strength, or healing, prayer provides the channel to communicate with God and receive supernatural strength and power!

Today this is called the ministry of the church. The ministry of the church is not only the preaching of the gospel. This does not mean that we should not preach the gospel; it means that the ministry of the church is not merely the preaching of the gospel. The ministry of the church is to bring the will in heaven to earth.

How does the church bring the will in heaven to earth? It is by prayer on earth. Prayer is not as small and insignificant as some may think. It is not something that is dispensable. Prayer is a work. Prayer is the church saying to God, “God, we want Your will.” Prayer is the church knowing God’s heart and opening its mouth to ask for what is in God’s heart. If the church does not do this, it does not have much use on earth.

Youth Ministry Network

In a continuing effort to reach and develop the next generation of Christian leaders and church members, a new network is being formed by TXM. This new network seeks to develop relational connections with leaders of teenagers among our congregations. The new relational network will consist of groups similar to our Thrive Pastors Groups.

If you would like us to contact your leader about participating, please e-mail your youth leader’s name and contact information to Micah Thurston at, or text him at (903) 987-4501.

This event has been a part of the state of Texas for over 30 years.
